Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Prep Den website at prepden.com and the study guides and related services offered through it (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Prep Den (“Prep Den”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or purchasing a guide you agree to these Terms.

1. No affiliation with examination bodies

Prep Den is an independent educational publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), the College Board, or any other examination authority. “International Baccalaureate”, “IB”, “Advanced Placement”, and “AP” are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe the curricula that our materials are designed to support. Our materials are not official, authorised, or approved by the IBO or the College Board, and use of our materials does not guarantee any particular examination result.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian, and that person agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.

3. Accounts

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Sharing your account, login credentials, or paid content with another person is a material breach of these Terms.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being shared, used fraudulently, or used in violation of these Terms.

4. Purchases and access

  • Each study guide is a one-time purchase. Unless stated otherwise on the product page, purchase grants a single user a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the purchased guide for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase.
  • Prices are shown on each product page and are subject to change. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay for that purchase.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
  • After your access period ends, the guide will no longer appear in your dashboard. You may purchase the guide again to renew access.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, publicly post, or otherwise share guide content with anyone who has not paid for access;
  • use any automated means (including scraping, crawlers, or bots) to download or extract content;
  • circumvent any technical measures we use to control access to paid content;
  • use the Service to upload or transmit anything unlawful, infringing, harassing, or harmful;
  • reverse-engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the Service;
  • use the Service in a way that interferes with other users or our infrastructure.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the Service — including study guides, flashcards, quiz questions, explanations, layouts, and visual design — is owned by Prep Den or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access the guides you have paid for, solely for your own study. No other rights are granted.

7. Educational content disclaimer

Our materials are provided for educational purposes only. We work to keep them accurate and aligned with the published curricula, but examination syllabuses change and our materials may not reflect every update at every moment. You are responsible for verifying current syllabus requirements with the relevant examination authority. We do not guarantee any particular score, grade, or examination outcome.

8. Service availability

We aim to make the Service available at all times but may pause or interrupt it for maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control. We are not liable for periods of downtime, but where downtime materially affects your ability to use a paid guide, we may, at our discretion, extend your access period as a goodwill measure.

9. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion by emailing support@prepden.com. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you materially breach these Terms, including any breach of Section 5 (Acceptable Use). Termination for breach forfeits any remaining access period without refund.

11. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL PREP DEN BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR EXAMINATION OUTCOMES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Prep Den harmless from any claims, losses, or damages (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Prep Den is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
